Today Kamaroutes is taking you to Kipwe, an enchanting camp huddled in the rocks, with sweeping views across the Aba Huab valley. It appears as if rocks have tumbled down the hill to reveal Kipwe and its setting is one of intimacy and space. An inviting lounge area, where birds fly in to enjoy the water seeping from the rocks, a refreshing swimming pool nestled in the rocks and a scattering of bungalows complete this eco-friendly camp.
Accommodation at Kipwe include twin-bedded rooms with en-suite, open air private bathrooms and luxury elevated thatched suite with private lounges equipped with satellite television and minibars. Activities offered by the camp included guided nature drives that will allow you to explore the surrounding area and search for the desert adapted animals, such as the desert-adapted elephants and desert black rhino. Kamaroutes’ guests will also enjoy the Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes Excursion and it is a must if you are spending at least 2 nights at the lodge.
Camp Kipwe believes in uplifting its community and protecting the environment. Amongst other projects, a community vegetable garden has been set up and the lodge expanded its waterhole to ensure the herd of 18 elephants which usually visit the lodge have enough to drink.
