Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will receive a warm welcome from your guide. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your lodge in the Arusha area, approximately 45 minutes away. This evening provides a perfect opportunity to relax, settle in, and prepare for the incredible adventures ahead. Your day concludes with a delicious dinner.
Day 2 - A day in Tarangire
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its majestic baobab trees and colossal elephant herds. This park offers a stunning blend of riverine forests, open plains, and rolling hills, providing a beautiful backdrop for your safari. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating guided game drive, venturing deep into the park in search of lions, elephants, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, and perhaps even elusive cheetahs and leopards. After a fantastic day of wildlife viewing, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night's rest.
Day 3 - Explore Lake Manyara National Park
Today, after an early breakfast and with your picnic lunch packed, you will leave Tarangire and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania's most unique parks. It is famous for its abundant elephants and, if you are lucky, you might spot the elusive tree-climbing lions. The park also boasts a lake filled with wading birds, numerous olive baboons, and dense forests where fascinating animals seem to emerge at every turn. You will enjoy your picnic lunch within the park, continuing your game drive throughout the afternoon, observing the rich diversity of wildlife and landscapes until the end of the day. Afterwards, you will transfer to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 4, 5 & 6 - Safari immersion in the Serengeti
After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on a scenic drive towards the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route. Your journey will include a picnic stop before you arrive at Zawadi Camp in the central Serengeti by late afternoon. Upon arrival, you will enjoy your first evening game drive in this world-renowned park, watching as numerous animals roam and graze across the wild plains.
For the next three days, immerse yourselves fully in the vastness of the Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's premier safari destinations. Your expert guide will lead you on extensive morning and afternoon game drives, maximizing your chances of encountering the Big Five – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos. The central Serengeti is particularly rich in acacia woodlands and offers sweeping savanna horizons, frequently revealing large prides of lions, cheetahs in the grasslands, and vast numbers of wildebeest and zebras. You will also encounter giraffes, various antelopes, and an incredible diversity of birdlife. Lunch can be enjoyed as a hot meal back at the lodge or as a packed picnic in the park, depending on your preferences. After thrilling days of exploration, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and a peaceful night's rest under the African sky.
Day 7 - Arrival at Ngorongoro
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you will have the option to stop at a Maasai Boma for a cultural experience or explore Olduvai Gorge, the site of important hominid discoveries. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route to the Ngorongoro area. In the afternoon, prepare for an unforgettable descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a magnificent natural wonder. Spend the majority of your afternoon within this vast caldera, an incredible natural arena teeming with an astonishing density of wildlife, including lions, hyenas, black rhinos, and many other species. After an exhilarating day of wildlife viewing, you'll ascend from the crater and transfer to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 6 - Explore Ngorongoro
You will spend the whole day exploring the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descending into the crater. The 19-kilometre wide, dry crater floor has approximately the same climatic conditions as the Serengeti National Park. In the crater lies Lake Magadi, a shallow soda lake. With approximately 30,000 animals, the crater is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world. You will have a picnic lunch at the bottom of the crater. Later you will drive back to your lodge for the overnight.
Day 11 - Game drive in Arusha National Park & Departure
After breakfast, you will embark on a refreshing morning adventure to Arusha National Park. Here, you can enjoy a hike to discover waterfalls, observe various wildlife species, and spot an abundance of birds. A warm lunch will be served within the park. In the afternoon, you will return to Arusha to visit local markets, offering a chance for some last-minute souvenir shopping. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your incredible Tanzanian safari, but we trust you will return home with a suitcase full of wonderful memories and hope to welcome you back again soon.
